Every parent we know has tried a paper list. It works for about two weeks. Then the kids stop looking at it and the parents start repeating themselves.
We didn't want a reward system that felt arbitrary. We wanted kids to see the direct line between finishing a chore and earning screen time — no mystery, no negotiation.
